Seattle, December 2002

Back to: Larkin Family main page

As an early Christmas present, we traveled to Seattle for a couple days in late December. The main purpose of our trip was to take the kids to an NFL football game. I bought four tickets to watch the Seahawks play the Rams off Ebay.  I got them for about 35 cents on the dollar (its too bad that's about all Seahawk tickets are worth).  I hadn't been to the new stadium yet and was anxious to see it. We were on the 50 yard line up really high. If it would have rained, we would have stayed dry. The Seahawks won and everybody had a good time.  Beautiful facility, I'm glad it has an open roof. Too bad the beers are $6.00.

We stayed two nights at the Sheraton located less than a mile north of the Stadium.  We were on the 29th floor with a great view to the north. Thanks Hotwire.com for a great deal !!!  The Sheraton is in the heart of the downtown shopping district. Being small town folks, its always fun to see the big city hustle and bustle of the holidays.  We wandered all around the pike place market, pioneer square and the waterfront.

Another highlight of the trip was the Bill Spidel's Underground tour. I've been on the tour before and will certainly do it again. They always have great tour guides and its a great quick history lesson on early Seattle.
